How we got here

Inspired by her career in the fashion industry, Cynthia McMullen founded Slow Craft to address the growing problem of textile waste and need for more social connections.

Cynthia is a fabric material developer and a product developer for many brands across a 20 year career. She is a DIY-er, upcycler, and textile artist always repurposing materials. She loves connecting and teaching in person classes.

Slow Craft offers beginner-friendly classes while repurposing materials. We help you craft unique pieces. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill or simply relax with friends, Slow Craft offers a fun and sustainable way to create something truly special. You can learn techniques like upcycling, knitting, weaving, embroidery, thoughtful mending, dyeing and screen printing.

We care about using our hands to create and discover the joy of slow crafting. We hope the workshops can bring a smile to you, a sense of accomplishment with a finished project to take home. Come take a crafting class with us!
